About this property

Located in a peaceful hamlet, close to the Somerset/Devon border, Holywell House is perfectly situated to explore both beautiful counties. This spacious, architect designed house was constructed in 2017 and offers all of the creature comforts and conveniences that you could hope for on your holiday.

This handsome ‘upside down’ split level home cleverly takes full advantage of its stunning rural views by locating the superb living accommodation on the first floor, and three of the four comfy bedrooms downstairs. Spread out and relax in the large, open-plan living space with a sitting area featuring comfy sofas surrounding the contemporary remote controlled gas wood burning stove effect fire where movie nights can be enjoyed on the 55 inch Smart television, Blu-ray and DVD player. Memorable holiday meals are a joy to create in the sociable kitchen and dining area, fully equipped to satisfy even the most discerning of chefs with two full electric ovens, a built-in microwave, and of course the all important wine fridge.

Bedroom one can also be found on this first floor level and enjoys its own sofa, television and en-suite bathroom. Downstairs, bedroom two is equally generous, again with an en-suite, whilst bedrooms two and three have use of the spacious family bathroom with separate shower. All four bedrooms provide a television for lazy mornings in bed with a cuppa. Holiday laundry can be kept out of sight and mind with the utility room also tucked away downstairs.

Back upstairs, from the sitting room bi-folding doors open out onto a beautifully landscaped, fully enclosed garden and large terrace set into the hillside providing breath-taking views of the surrounding countryside. With plenty of outdoor seating and a gas barbecue, this is where you'll want to be during the warmer months.

The ‘Thankful Village' of Holywell Lake is situated in a small coombe close to the Somerset/Devon county border and is surrounded by the Brendon Hills and the Quantock and Blackdown Hills, both designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The area really is a walking and cycling paradise. The nearest amenities can be found just a short five minute drive away in the historic county town of Wellington.

MADE OUR CHRISTMAS!! Honestly couldn’t fault Holywell House from the warm welcome of the owner Vic to the all so many touches that he and his wife left us. The pictures don’t do justice to how spacious this house feels whilst being homely and in pristine condition throughout. The whole family agreed that the house was one of the best things about the trip (second only to Santa and presents!) We will be back! Thanks, The Denhams
